Road safety rules protect children from accidents and injuries. Learning these rules early helps children develop awareness and responsibility. Know the Signal Colors
Children should understand traffic lights and what each color means:

Children should always cross roads at zebra crossings. Before crossing, they should know and learn to:
- Stop at the edge of the road
- Look right, left, and right again
- Listen for approaching vehicles
- Cross only when the road is clear
Adults should always accompany children under six and hold their hands when crossing the street.
Pay Attention Near Street Areas
Tell your children:
- If they hear a horn, stop immediately and look in all directions
- Listen for engine sounds – loud noises mean vehicles are close, faint sounds mean they’re farther away

Do Not Run on the Road

Use Sidewalks and Designated Crossings
Always walk on sidewalks or pavements. If there’s no sidewalk, walk facing the traffic. Use zebra crossings whenever available. Never cross roads at turns or curves where drivers might not see you clearly.
Vehicle Safety Tips
Children should keep hands and arms inside vehicles at all times. Never stick hands, arms, or heads out of windows. When riding bicycles, older children should stay on the far-left side of the road and wear helmets.
